The Sashiko Maintenance Kit includes all the tools to repair and reinforce. And this naturally turns into an act of unique creation and customization. By adding your own stitched patterns, you aren't simply fixing a garment, you are actively shaping its character and making it entirely your own.
This practice is rooted in the scarce and sacred.
When hemp and wood were the most common fibers for clothing amongst commoners, stitching sashiko was leveraged to strengthen fabric or to make for warmer clothing.
Semamori, back amulet, is stitching protective symbols onto the back of garments. Embedding silent wishes and affectionate intentions into the very fabric. By adding your own stitches to the Workwear Haori, you follow in the tradition of creating your own story.

- Japanese shears should be used exclusively for thread and fabric.
- For safety, please return all tools to the box after each use.
- Store the kit in a cool, dry place away from humidity.

Kit includes:
- 5 sashiko needles
- 10m organic cotton sashiko thread
- Several pieces of organic cotton fabric scraps
- 1 Japanese thread-clipping shears
- 2 needle threaders
All tools come packaged in a dedicated wooden box and a drawstring pouch featuring a highly rare wamèn Japanese cotton patch.

- Our Workwear Haori is individually handcrafted and sewn in Tokyo. Because each piece is made-to-order, production and delivery may take up to 12 weeks.
- Additionally, all items are dyed at our laboratory in Kyoto. If you select the tea-dyeing option, please allow an extra 8 weeks for completion.
- Sashiko Maintenance Kits: For orders that are only a Sashiko Maintenance Kit, it will be shipped within 4 weeks. For orders that include a Workwear Haori, items will be shipped together according to the schedule above.
While we make every effort to deliver your order as quickly as possible, we kindly ask for your understanding regarding these lead times.
Returns
Order Cancellations, Returns, & Exchanges
As our items are made-to-order, we do not accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations once an item has been paid for and processing has begun. However, if your item is defective, we will assess the situation. Please contact us immediately if you receive a faulty product.
Return Window
Please contact us within 14 days of the shipment date.
Return Shipping Fees
We will cover the return shipping costs if the item is defective. For any other circumstances, the shipping costs will be the responsibility of the customer.
